HC reserves its order on shifting trial against Prabhunath
Patna, Aug 03 (UNI) Patna High Court today reserved its order on a petition seeking transfer of trials from Bhagalpur to other district in connection with four criminal cases pending against JD(U) MP Prabhunath Singh.
Justice Navin Sinha passed the order on four separate petitions filed by former MLA Tarkeshwar Singh.
The court had clubbed all these four separate petitions seeking similar relief.
Counsel of the petitioners alleged that the presiding judge and public prosecutor of the court in Bhagalapur were biased and hence the fair trials were not possible.
While opposing the plea of petitioner, the counsel of JD(U) MP submiited before the court that all witnesses in the related cases had given their statements before the trial court and there was no justification in shifting of the trials from Bhagalpur at this stage.
