'Govt ensured equitable distribution of water: Capt Yadav
Kaithal, Aug 3 (UNI) Haryana Irrigation Minister Ajay Yadav today said the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, had taken a number of steps to ensure equitable distribution of canal waters in all regions of the state and improve irrigation facilities.
The Minister stated this while addressing a press conference here after laying the foundation stone of four canal minors in the area to be constructed at a cost of Rs 13 crore.
He said the construction work of Rs 350 crore Hansi-Butana multipurpose channel was going on speedily and about 90 per cent work had been completed and by the end of this year the canal would be ready.
He said farmers of 16 districts in the state would benefit when this canal became operational.
The minister said Haryana would carry only its share from water in Bhakra Main Line to other areas of the state. ''We would not take even a single drop of water of share of Panjab and Rajasthan.'' UNI
