Centre asks Bihar govt to intensify relief in flood-hit areas
New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh today directed the Bihar Government to intensify relief measures in the flood-affected areas to protect the lives and properties of people.
Dr Singh, who will visit the flood-hit areas tomorrow to take stock of the ongoing relief measures, said that readymade food, polythenes for shelter, health care, medicine and boats were provided on a large-scale.
He said the Centre had already provided Rs 53 crore under the CRF in March 2007. However, Rs 233 crore out of Bihar's share of the CRF had not been released due to non-submission of utilisation certificate by the state government.
Dr Singh asked the Bihar government to submit the utilisation certificate to receive the entitled fund and intensify relief operation.
