Vijaya Bank ties up with IDRBT for sharing of ATMs
Bangalore, Aug 2 (UNI) Public sector Vijaya Bank will join the consortium of banks from tomorrow for sharing of ATMs network through the National Financial Switch (NFS).
Informing this to newspersons here, Bank Chairman and Managing Director Prakash Mallya said an agreement to this effect was signed with the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT).
Under the agreement more than 2.7 lakh ATM-cum-Debit card holders of Vijaya Bank could access any of the 13,200 shared ATMs in addition to the bank owned 171 ATMs and transact cash withdrawals upto Rs 15,000 per day besides making enquiries. Similarly, card holders of other banks could also transact at Vijaya Bank's owned ATMs for cash withdrawals and balance enquiries, he explained.
The NFS network currently had a membership of 25 banks comprising 11 public sector banks and 15 private sector banks, he said adding the bank had successfully implemented the Finacle-based Core Banking Solution (CBS).
Presently 475 of the 985 branches of the bank were networked through CBS covering 81 per cent of overall business of the bank, he said and added that to ensure 100 per cent CBS coverage by March next, the bank had taken steps to increase the number of ATMs from 171 to 375 by March next.
