Patna, Aug 02 (UNI) A top class business delegation from Mauritius representing diversified industries will arrive here next month to explore business and investment opportunities in Bihar through joint ventures.
This was decided during a last night meeting between the chiefs of Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry(MCCI) and the Bihar Chamber of Commerce(BCC) at Port Louis, the capital of the island nation, on the concluding day of a five-day goodwill visit of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Informing this, BCC sources quoting its president O P Shah, a member of the Chief Minister's entourage, here today said during the meeting MCCI president Azeem Currimjee and chief of Hindu Business Chamber of Mauritius Shahil Ramchurn had evinced keen interest in the growing business opportunity in Bihar and inquired from Mr Shah and other senior members of the chamber about the sectors where investment could be made through joint venture initiatives.
Further elaborating the sources said the BCC president drew the attention of top industrialists in Mauritius towards the huge investment opportunity in agriculture, agro-based industries, healthcare, food processing, education, tourism and in sugarcane industry in Bihar and said with active cooperation of the state government in terms of infrastructural facilities several new industrial units could come up under joint venture.
The BCC would not only take part in the whole process in a very active manner but would also be more than happy to work as the facilitator in the entire process by helping the delegation members identify the potential areas, the sources quoting Mr Shah said.
