Teacher beats student to death in Udaipur

Udaipur, Aug 2 (UNI) Arpit Kawriya, a class XII student of a private school here, succumbed to his injuries in a hospital here today after he was allegedly beaten up by his teacher a few days ago.

Arpit's relatives and students of Aloke Senior Secondary Vidyalaya voiced their protest and agitated against the school management today.

On July 26, Arpit's teacher Indra Sanwar hit him with a stick and beat him up mercilessly, say fellow students. Two days later, his relatives admitted him to Maharana Bhupal Hospital when his condition deteriorated due to internal injuries. He passed away this morning.

According to police, Arpit's relatives lodged a case against teacher Indra under Section 302.

Confirming the news, Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria said a post- mortem would be conducted which will ascertain the reasons behind the death.
