Tata Indicom, Samsung launch dual SIM card phone

Mumbai, Aug 2: Private telecom player Tata Indicom in association with Samsung Telecommunications today launched a dual SIM card-based smart world phone ''Samsung Duo'' within a price range of Rs 11,999 for the consumers in India.

Unveiling the new handset here today, Tata Indicom said this smart world phone with two SIM card slots inside has quad band capability which supports both CDMA as well as GSM communication facilities. Apart from the general features a normal phone packs, it has been designed with additional multiple facilities including touch screen, handwriting recognition, file viewer, and bluetooth.

Speaking on the occasion, Tata Teleservices president (enterprise solution) Vinayak Deshpande said, ''We are offering dual SIM facility in this phone which would allow our consumer to continue with their existing number and at the same time switch to Tata Indicom network.'' This is an extension of the company's commitment and in line with a strategy to offer superior CDMA technology and facilitate customers from any network to switch to Tata Indicom, Mr Deshpande added.
