Seiko launches new watches in India

Chennai, Aug 2: SEIKO Watch Corporation, the leading global watch manufacturer has unveiled a wide range of its latest, premium international watches in India.

SEIKO launched its latest range of wrist watches 'Sportura,' 'Premier' and 'Spring Drive' collections. Altogether 110 watches will be launched in India, within the price tag of Rs 6,700 to Rs 1,70,000.

Talking to newspersons here today, Company Managing Director Atsushi Kaneko said "the overall SEIKO range will maintain a 'classy active' look and will target the young, mature, upwardly mobile and 'self assured' Indian consumer in the age group of 25-40 years." "In keeping with its rich 126-year-old legacy of being an innovator, SEIKO, noted for inventing the world's first quartz wrist watch, has amongst other notable 'firsts' in the world of watches, created path-breaking technologies like the Spring Drive and Kinetic, he informed.

The 'Sportura' and 'Premier' collections in India, will offer watches featuring this new-age 'Kinetic' technology.

"We have plans to set up SEIKO image store soon in India, within a couple of years. Apart from this, we are also planning to establish authorised service centre across the cities," he added.
