Sack Sethusamudram Project Chairman: Dr Subramanian Swamy
Chennai, Aug 2 (UNI) Janata Party President Dr Subramanian Swamy today demanded the sacking of Tuticorin Port Trust Chairman Ragupathy, who is also the Chairman of Sethusamudram Shipping Channel Project, for misquoting NASA to contend Ramar Sethu is a natural formation.
Mr Regupathy, while addressing a press conference here on July 27, had claimed that NASA had communicated to him that the Ramar Sethu, called Adams Bridge by the british, was a natural formation and it was not built on the direction of Lord Rama.
Reacting to this, Dr Swamy said to his e-mail query, NASA had replied that it made no such communication and it had clarified saying ''we cannot speculate on the validity, or invalidity of other origin narratives for the Palk Strait islands.'' Dr Swamy said he would meet NASA officials this weekend and after his return, he would file a contempt of court case against Union Shipping Minister in the Supreme Court.
