Police bust sex racket on ministry premises
Jaipur, Aug 2 (UNI) Police busted a sex racket the education ministry premises here and arrested six people,including two women, in this connection.
However, the main accused managed to flee.
According to police, the accused were arrested yesterday from a pump house located on the sprawling campus of Shiksha Sankul, the headquarters of the state education ministry.
Superintendent of police V K Singh said the isolated pump house in one corner of the campus lies largely deserted and its maintenance has been handed over to a private contractor Ramesh Sharma.
The two women hail from Ahmedabad and West Bengal. Gopal, Shailiram, Salim Neelgar and Sabir were the others arrested.
The four youths arrested hail from Prem Nagar, Jhotwara, Chaksu and rural areas of Jaipur and are labourers. Salim and Sabir hail from Mumbai.
The Opposition Congress held a protest outside the ministry campus, urging immediate action against the guilty.
Education secretary Sudhir Bhargava told a press conference here today that no education ministry official is involved in the sex racket.
In view of the developments, Mr Bhargava said security would be tightened around the campus.
