One person killed and 26 injured in two separate accidents

Hubli, Aug 2 (UNI) One person was killed and 26 were others injured in two different road accidents today in Dharwad district.

Police said driver of a truck was killed on the spot and 12 bus passengers were injured when the vehicle collided headon against a State Road Transport Corporation bus near Jigalur on Pune-Bangalore National Highway.

The bus was on its way to Bijapur from Chitradurg while the lorry was proceeding towards Bangalore.

In another accident, 14 people were injured when a van carrying a marriage party overturned near Hubli-Dharwad bypass road. The vanx was coming to Hubli from Ankalagi in Belgaum district.

The injured have been shifted to Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences here and at district hospital Dharwad.
