One killed, 26 injured in two mishaps

Hubli, Aug 2 (UNI) One person was killed and 26 were others injured in two different road accidents today in Dharwad district.

Police said the driver of a truck was killed on the spot and 12 people were injured when the bus in which they were travelling, collided with a State Road Transport Corporation bus near Jigalur on Pune-Bangalore National Highway.

The bus was on its way to Bijapur from Chitradurga while the lorry was proceeding towards Bangalore.

In another accident, 14 people were injured when a van carrying a marriage party overturned near Hubli-Dharwad bypass road. The vanx was coming to Hubli from Ankalagi in Belgaum district.

The injured were admitted to Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences here and to the district hospital at Dharwad.
