Bhubaneswar, Aug 2 (UNI) Orissa Mahila Congress today held Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik responsible for large scale female foeticide and proliferation of fake drugs in the state and demanded that a criminal case must be initiated against him.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mahila Congress president Asima Mahanada said her party would stage a massive demonstration in the state capital on Monday, demanding the Chief Minister's resignation.

She said the Mahila Congress had decided to oppose the visit of the Chief Minister, Health Minister and Women and Child Development Minister to any district for their failure in preventing the female foeticide and circulation of spurious and fake drugs in the state.

Ms Mahananda also alleged that though the Chief Minister was aware of the fake drug racket, he failed to take any action and demanded that the matter be probed by CBI for a fair investigation to unearth the nexus.

The party had decided to set up Task Force at the district level to arouse awareness among the people against the female infanticide, she added.

She also demanded that a non-bailable warrant should be issued against all those involved in the fake drugs and female foeticide adding that the license of the doctors and the nursing home involved in this racket be cancelled forthwith.
