Naveen announces a series of packages for govt employees
Bhubaneswar, Aug 2 (UNI) Bowing to the employees' demand, Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced to constitute a committee to set right the anomalies created following the fifth Pay Commission report.
The Committee would submit its reports within three months.
The announcement was made at a meeting held between a delegation of the Orissa Non-Gazetted Officers Coordination Committee, led by its general secretary Braja Nanda and the Chief Minister, this evening.
Mr Nanda told newsmen here that Mr Patnaik also agreed to meet a number of other demands of the employees.
Among other things, the Chief Minister agreed to pay central gratuity and announced Rs 20 crore for the construction of quarters for the employees working at the district level.
The Chief Minister, Mr Nanda said, had also agreed not to abolish posts after the voluntary retirement of an employees, make payment of salary through pass book to DLR and NMR employees, health insurance scheme for all employees and regularise the posts of all NMR and DLR employees in phases.
Mr Patnaik agreed to meet the demands of the employees to provide maternity leave and dress allowances to nurses working on contract and weekly off to the Live Stock Inspectors.
