Narayanan briefs Advani on nuclear deal

New Delhi, Aug 2 (UNI) National Security Advisor M K Narayanan today called on Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani and briefed him on the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Sources said Mr Narayanan apprised the senior BJP leader of the details of the Indo-US nuclear agreement.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had held a meeting with a BJP delegation, led by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, more than a week ago about the nuclear deal. However, Mr Advani had not been part of the BJP delegation as he was in Singapore.

Mr Narayanan, therefore, went to his residence to brief him on the deal.

Mr Advani is the leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and the issue is likely to come up in Parliament at the beginning of the Monsoon session, starting on August 10.
