Maoist sub-zonal commander arrested in Gaya

Gaya, Aug 02 (UNI) Two hardcore Maoist ultras, including a self- styled sub-zonal commander, were arrested from their hideout near here late last night.

Police said here today acting on a tip off a team of armed policemen raided their hideout at Neothi village under Konch police station in the district and arrested the extremists, including sub-zonal commandar Sanjeet Paswan.

Two granades, three live cartridges, Rs 5000 in cash besides some explosive powder and Maoist literature, one mobile phone and a sim card were recovered from them, police added.

Incidentally, Sanjeet Paswan was wanted by the police in connection with several cases of murder, loot and extortions for the past couple of years.
