Maoist set afire railway engine; open fire on police van

Latehar, Aug 2 (UNI) The proscribed CPI(Maoist) activists today torched two railway engines between Demu and Richughuta stations under Barweadih-Barkakhana section of East Central Railways.

Official sources said the guard along with two drivers had been missing after the incident, which took place at about 1553 hrs.

The ultras set afire the engine of goods train 305/306 after taking out their drivers and guard, sources added.

The train loaded with coal was on way to Obera from Khalari.

Senior railway oficials rushed to the spot.
