Mah Govt to follow SC guidelines on Srikrishna Commission

Mumbai, Aug 2 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said his government will follow the guidelines of the Supreme Court on Srikrishna Commission's report.

Talking to reporters here, after the monsoon session was prorogued, Mr Deshmukh, along with Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, said the Congress-NCP government had already taken up the recommendations of the Commission's report nine years ago and even filed cases against the persons seemed guilty prima facie.

He said before filing of the cases, the issues were discussed with the legal experts, adding that the government was ready to file the cases again in any incident, which was left behind.

Thanking the opposition for their cooperation, Mr Deshmukh said during the Presidential elections, Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena were together, while on the issue of scrapping of Urban Land Ceiling, the Congress-NCP-BJP came together.

''We are getting the support from either of the opposition parties alternately, while we two are always together,'' said Mr Deshmukh amidst laughter.

He said nine bills were passed in the House and major discussions including on the Wakf land took place during the 12 days session, which continued for three days.
