Heavy rains lash parts of Rajasthan

Jaipur, Aug 2 (UNI) Heavy rains have been lashing most parts of Rajasthan except the western region in the last 24 hours.

According to irrigation and meteorological department, Alwar, Dausa, Karauli, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Kota, Baran, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Jhunjhunu and Jaipur districts are experiencing heavy rains in the past 24 hours. At least 84 dams in the state are filled to the brim.

Some parts of the state capital witnessed rains while the sky remained overcast throughout the day.

According to weather department, Alwar district's Thanagaji recorded 80 mm, Tijara and Kotkasim 70, Ramgarh and Alwar 60 mm, in Bharatpur's Pahadi and Sepau 50 mm, Kama 40, Dholpur district's Bari 50, Dausa 30, Karauli 27, Jhunjhunu district's Pilani 35.5, Bhilwara district Mandalgarh 31, Kota district's Mandana 23 mm, Kota 20.6 mm, Chittorgarh district's Dungla 20 mm, Jaipur 17, Udaipur 15 and 10 mm.

The forecast over the next 24 hours is rains accompanied with thunder and lightening.
