Haryana: Rs 22 cr spent on police modernisation

Chandigarh, Aug 2 (UNI) The Haryana government spent Rs 22.82 crore during the last year to modernise its police force to provide better policing system in the state.

A police spokesman said a sum of Rs 14.02 crore had been spent on construction of buildings which included construction of five new police station buildings at Cheeka, Babain, Matloda, Ambala City and Bapoli and modernisation of Regional Training Centre and Firing Range at Bhondsi.

Similarly, on residential buildings, 300 houses had been onstructed for Constables and Head-constables and 30 houses for ASIs, he added.

The spokesman said Rs 5.61 crore had been spent for the purchase of new vehicles. A sum of Rs 99.47 lakh had been spent on Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) equipments and Rs 1.27 crore for the procurement of communication equipment.

He said Rs 17.53 lakh had been spent on security equipment and Rs 73.61 lakh for the purchase of vehicles and equipment of Home Guard.
