former-SP MLA booked under Gangster Act

Eta, Aug 2 (UNI) Former Samajwadi Party MLA Rameshwar Singh Yadav and district panchayat president Jugendra have been booked under Gangster Act.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) R P Chaturvedi today told that Rameshwar and his brother Jugendra were history-sheeters with and at least 50 criminal cases pending against them.

They have been booked under section 16, 17 and 22 of Gangster Act, 1986.

Earlier, in 2000, also they were charged under the same act.

Mr Chaturvedi said arrest orders for the former MLA and his brother had been issued and efforts were on to attach their property.

The duo had also been booked for the criminal offences committed by them in the last three years for which the former MLA had filed a petition in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court.
