Floods disrupt train services between Alipurduar and Siliguri
Guwahati, Aug 2 (UNI) Owing to several breaches in the railway tracks, caused by floods, train services on the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) have either been cancelled or diverted.
NFR sources said here today that train services on the Alipurduar- Siliguri junction section (via Hasimara-Binnaguri-Chaisa) had been diverted to the New Coochbehar-Dhupguri route.
Top NFR officials were already at the affected locations to carry out repairs and restoration work on a war-footing.
The train movement on this route was likely to resume by August nine, provided the flood situation did not worsen further, the railway sources added.
