DVC likely to release one lakh cusecs of water tonight

Kolkata, Aug 02 (UNI) The Damodar Valley Corporation in a letter to the Howrah district administration today informed that they might release one lakh cusecs of water tonight.

The DVC have also mentioned that the water would be released into the Damodar river thereby flooding several blocks of the district including Uluberia, Bagnan, Udaynarayanpur, Shyampur and Amta.

Meanwhile, the district administration have cautioned the people in these areas, who were already facing the flood fury since past few days, in this regard.

They have asked the people to vacate the area and take shelter at high altitude areas.
