Calicut airport gets ready for foreign airlines

Kozhikode, Aug 2: The Calicut international airport at Karippur near here is well prepared to allow operations by foreign airlines to various destinations, Airport Authority of India Chairman K Ramalingam said yesterday.

Infrastructure to this effect had already been developed, he told reporters here last night after reviewing the on-going expansion work at the airport.

However, a final decision on allowing international carriers would be taken by the Civil Aviation Ministry, he added.

Stating that expansion work of the airport was progressing well, he informed that work on the domestic terminal would be over by October this year.
