Calcutta HC postpones B.ed exam for indefinite period

Kolkata, Aug 2 (UNI) Calcutta High Court today passed an order to postpone Calcutta University's B ed examination, scheduled to begin tomorrow, for an indefinite period.

Justice Biswanath Samaddar directed the CU authorities to defer the examination (old syllabus) on a petition filed by Calcutta Teachers Training College.

The CTTC in its petition have pleaded before the court that the college, having nearly 200 candidates, have not conducted the requisite 200 classes mandatory for appearing the examination.

The petition further mentioned that the session had begun this February and a very few classes had been conducted so far.

Petitioner's Counsel Ashok Banerjee said affiliation of the college would be cancelled if the required number of classes, needed for appearing the exam, were not conducted.
