V-Link plans to increase 1,000 Meru taxis by year end
Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) V-Link, a leading fleet management company that launched 'Meru', a world-class metered call taxi service in the city in April this year, will increase the number by 1,000 more taxis by the end of this year.
V-Link plans to manage a fleet of at least 10,000 cabs across major metros of the country in the next 3 to 5 years.
According to a release by V-Link, by constantly maintaining its customer-centric focus, Meru has expanded its advanced booking service for customers in Andheri, Santacruz, Vile Parle, Goregaon, Malad, Vikhroli, Chembur, Powai, Vashi and other nearby areas in June 2007, in addition to its existing network from South Mumbai to Bandra and Kurla.
Meru has now extended its services further, within BMC limits to areas such as Mulund, Mankhurd and Dahisar in order to reach a wider base of clientele and enable them to benefit of this luxury service.
Speaking to reporters, Neeraj Gupta, Managing Director, V-Link Group said, ''I feel especially proud that Meru cabs are helping in upgrading the infrastructure of the city, which is badly required and providing passenger's with luxury during travelling. ''By extending our services, we will be able to reach a wider base of clientele in the city. Meru cabs are environment-friendly, which has completely revolutionised the taxi service in the city, and has set the pace for tremendous growth for this industry in India.'' V-Link currently offers an advance booking system for Meru, which allows a customer to book for a cab by dialling (022) 4422 4422 or logging onto www.merucabs.com and get a cab at their appointed location, the release added.
