Three injured in naxal attack

Ambikapur. Chhattisgarh, Aug 1 (UNI) At least three people, including a woman, were today injured when naxals opened fire on a Sports Utility Vehicle, while it was returning from Gadhwa in Jharkhand to Sarguja in Chhattisgarh, police said.

As the vehicle was returning during a naxal-sponsored bandh in Jharkhand, the ultras blocked the way with wooden logs and stopped the vehicle at Bhadua Ghat in Jharkhand border.

When the naxals opened fire, several buses and trucks were stationed the area. Several people including a woman in SUV, were injured during naxal firing.

The injured, who were travelling in the SUV, were brought here and admitted to a mission hospital. All the injured had received gunshots but their condition was stated to be stable.

The passengers in the SUV had gone to Gadhwa to receive medical treatment.
