Sugar prices ease on larger stocks arrivals
Navi Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) Sugar prices today declined by Rs 25 per quintal and were quoted below the Rs 1,500 mark, touching a six month low at Rs 1490 on sustained heavy offers by stockists in the face of larger stock arrivals from mills, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.
Sugar in small and medium grades crashed steeply by Rs 25 each on poor demand in view of increased stocks inflows from mills.
Sugar ex-mill in small and medium grades too fell by Rs ten per quintal each in line with open markets.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,321/1,386, Medium grade: Rs 1,374/1,495, Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,290/1,315, Medium grade: Rs 1,340/1,405.
