Spot silver, gold slip on bearish global advice

Mumbai, Aug 1: Spot silver and gold today closed softer on lack of fresh speculative demand in view of discouraging advice from global markets, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Following are the closing rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 17,700 (17,845), Gold (per 10 gm) Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 8,700 (8,760) Gold 99.9 purity pure Gold : Rs 8,750 (8,810).
