Special trains during Onam festival

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 1 (UNI) Two weekly special trains to Bangalore from Ernakulam and Kochuveli, near here, will run this month to clear the extra rush of passengers during Onam festival.

A Southern Railway release here said the Kochuveli-Bangalore special (via Alappuzha) would leave Kochuveli at 1415 hrs tomorrow from August 2 to 30 and reach Bangalore at 0715 hrs, the next day. In return direction, the train will leave Bangalore at 1855 hrs on Fridays from August 3 to 31 and arrive Kochuveli at 1130 hrs, the next day.

The trains will stop at Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam Jn, Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore Jn, Erode, Salem, Tirupathur, Bangarapet, Krishnarajapuram and Bangalore Cantonement.

The Ernakulam-Bangalore Superfast special will leave Ernakulam Jn at 1700 hrs on Monday from August 6 to 27 and arrive Bangalore at 0420 hrs, the next day. In the return direction, the train would leave Bangalore at 1715 hrs on Tuesdays from August 7 to 28 and arrive Ernakulam and 0430 hrs, the next day.

It will stop at Aluva, Thrissur, Ottappalam, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Tirupathur, Bangarapet, Krishnarajapuram and Bangalore Cantonement, the release added.
