Socio economic survey launched

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 1 (UNI) A socio economic survey covering household consumer expenditure, expenditure in education, employment-unemployment and migration through the National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) in Kerala was officially launched here today.

Kerala Planning Board Vice-Chairman Prabhat Patnaik inaugurated the survey by handing over a set of related documents to NSS Deputy Director General C R Kalyanakrishnan Nair at a function here.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nair said the survey would cover both urban and rural areas in all the districts.

The information collected through the survey would help in policy planning and devising development programmes by Government, at both Central and State levels, private sectors, NGOs and Researchers.
