Sheela Bhide takes over as CMD of ITPO

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) Dr (Mrs) Sheela Bhide, a 1973 batch IAS Officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, took over as Chairman and Managing Director of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) on July 30, 2007.

Dr Bhide succeeded Mr N N Khanna, who completed his tenure as CMD of ITPO on July 4, 2007, according to an ITPO release here today.

Prior to her present assignment, she was Special Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of External Affairs. She held key assignments in the Government of Andhra Pradesh including that of Principal Secretary in the Department of Finance and Department of Industries.

She has also served as Financial Advisor and Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence Production and Supply, Ministry of Dence, and as Joint Secretary, Department of Company Affairs.

A Doctorate in International Trade from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, Dr Bhide holds Masters degree in Economics from George Mason University, Virginia, USA and Master in Public Administration, Harvard University, USA.
