Rain plays hide and seek, in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Aug 1(UNI) The people of the desert state are still waiting for a good spell of rain with the monsoon playing hide and seek for the last one week.

Some sporadic rain have been reported in some places in Rajasthan in the last twenty four hours.

Bansoor and Kodkasim area in Alwar district experienced 44 mm of rain while Mandawar reported 33mm rain. Jaipur district's kotputli and Amer, Ladunu in Nagaur district reported 33mm, Bengu in Chittor district, Sangod in Kota , Malarna and Dunger in Sawai Madhopur district also reported 22 mm of rain.

Propelled by a good spell of rain in the catchement area Gandhi Sagar dam area in Madhya Pradesh the water inflow to the Champel river has increased considerably leading to the opening of three gates of the Kota Barage releasing 9743 qusecs of water.
