Professor manhandled, face blackened in Mumbai

Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) Activists of the Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Sena (BVS) today manhandled and blackened the face of a professor from J J College of Arts in south Mumbai for allegedly indulging in eve-teasing.

A BVS activist told UNI that the students had received a complaint to this effect against Prof Kiran Digaokar.

The activists barged into the chamber of Prof Digaokar at about 1500 hrs and manhandled him and blackening his face.

Confirming the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police Brijesh Singh said ''We are in the process of recording statements of students. After the statements are recorded, we will file an FIR against the accused persons.'' UNI ST KU BDP DB2003
