Bhopal, Aug 1 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani today assured to consider the demand to form a house committee to probe into unauthorised change in land use by educational institutions in the state capital and other places in the state.

However, Revenue Minister Kamal Patel rejected the demand raised by members cutting across party lines during discussion on a call attention notice, saying the Revenue department was competent to deal with such matters and senior officers would be deputed to inquire into it.

Mr Brijendra Tiwari and Mr Lal Singh Arya (both BJP), Mr Arif Aqueel and others, who moved the notice, said the LNCT group had changed the use of several hundred acres of land in the state capital for running technical and medical education institutions without permission and also evaded land revenue of several crore of rupees.

Mr Patel admitted that two cases were pending against the LNCT group and it would be settled within three months.

The government would ensure that there was no loss of revenue, he said.

He said the Revenue department had asked all District Collectors to look into the nexus of land mafia with officials and submit the report so that stern action could be taken against the guilty.
