PM urged to expedite SC categorisation work

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to expedite the work of the Commission appointed for the categorisation of the Scheduled Castes in the state.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, a copy of which was released to the media, Dr Reddy said several representations had been made to the State Government on categorization of SCs in the state.

The Assembly had passed a unanimous resolution recommending the Centre to take up the matter in the Parliament to amend the Constitution to to realise the demand.

He urged the Centre to expedite the measures in a time bound manner.
