One militant killed and two arrested in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 1 (UNI) Security forces killed a foreign militant and arrested two others in the Kashmir valley, a senior police officer has said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Baramulla, Vipaly Kumar a search operation was launched by 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir at Zaloora village, Sopore, about 55 km from here this morning following a specific information about the presence of militants there.

He said during the operation an encounter ensued in which a militant, believed to be a foreigner, was killed. One ak rifle, two magazines and one hand grenade were recovered from the slain militant, the SSP said.

A police spokesman said troops of 2 RR arrested a militant of Al-badr Shabir Ahmad Dar and Siraj Ahmad Bhat of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) at Bemina along with four hand grenades.
