One convicted to 2 years imprisonment
Bangalore, Aug 1 (UNI) Chandrakantha Patil, Office Assistant, Assistant Labour Commissioner Office, Gulbarga was convicted to two years imprisonment by District and Sessions Judge on the charges of accepting bribe for showing official favour.
The Judge also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on the convicted.
According to a release here today, Patil was arrested on April 20-2005 while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from Mr D Venkataramana, President Koppal District North Eastern Bus Driver's Association, Gangavathi, to make arrangements to register the Union.
