Officials told to complete Kolleru boundary works

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the District Collectors of West Godavari and Krishna district to complete the work of fixing bundaries of the Kolleru Lake Sanctuary by March 2008.

Dr Reddy, while reviewing the Kolleru Lake issues with Ministers, MPs, MLAs and District Collectors of Krishna and West Godavari districts here, said the lands beyond the notified area of 77,000 acres should not be tounched upon. However, the sanctuary area should be protected to avoid encroachment in the future.

Dr Reddy agreed to provide either land or compensation to those private land holders who lost their land by way of Kolleru development project and ordered the district Collectors to send a report after completion of the survey.
