Official sentenced to 2-years imprisonment
Bangalore, Aug 1 (UNI) The District and Sessions judge has convicted and sentenced an official of the Labour Commissioner Office, Gulbarga, to two-years imprisonment on a charge of accepting a bribe for showing an official favour.
The Judge also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on Chandrakantha Patil, Office Assistant in the Assistant Labour Commissioner Office, according to a release here today.
Patil was arrested on April 20, 2005, while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from D Venkataramana, President Koppal District North Eastern Bus Driver's Association, Gangavathi, to register the Union.
