No rainfall in last 24 hours

Kolkata, Aug 1 (UNI) The temperature in the city and adjoining areas today rose higher with no rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours.

Alipore Met officials said the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 34.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal, and the minimum at 27.9 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.

Humidity in the city has, however, decreased today with the maximum being recorded at 87 per cent and minimum being pegged at 53 per cent, Met officials here said.

The Met office forecast a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunder showers.
