Mukherjee to visit Steel city on August 8

Jamshedpur, Aug 1 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will visit Jamshedpur on August 8 to attend several functions including the ''Shahadat Divas'' (Martyr's Day) programme of slain Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM) leader Nirmal Mahto.

Talking to media persons here, Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister Sudhir Mahto said Mr Mukherjee would also be inaugurating a multiplex shopping mall at nearby Adityapur.

Nirmal Mahto's younger brother Sudhir Mahto said Mr Mukherjee would also visit the state's famous pilgrimage Rajrappa to offer puja at Chhinnamasta Kali temple.

He said apart from Mr Mukherjee, Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, Union Minister Prem Gupta, incarcerated JMM supremo Shibu Soren's wife Rupi Soren, Jharkhand deputy chief minister Stephen Marandi and host of other cabinet ministers would also attend the martyr's day function.
