Kashmiri fruit reach Nepal, and majority Indian states

Srinagar, Aug 1 (UNI) Demanding setting up Kashmir fruit and juice stalls at railway stations in Katra, base camp of Mata Vaishnodevi and the rest of the country, the Kashmir valley Fruit Growers Association and Dealers Union today said fruit from the valley are now being exported to Nepal.

A deputation of the Association gave this information to Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad here today.

They informed him that fruit from the valley was being exported to Nepal and Kathmandu besides different fruit markets including Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in the country.

They demanded setting up of Kashmir fruit and juice stalls at Katra and various railway stations in the country.

The deputation members also demanded adequate measures for wide dispersal of fruits in different markets of the country, establishing high capacity controlled atmosphere stores in different fruit 'mandies' of the valley and in fruit producing areas and regulation of market to avoid transportation of fruit in excess of the capacity of fruit 'mandies' outside the state.

Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that their demands would be looked into.
