Karunanidhi should apologise: Pillai
Kottayam, Aug 1 (UNI) Kerala Congress leader R Balakrishna Pillai today contended that in the wake of the court judgment acquitting Maudhany, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and other officials who were behind his arrest should apologise unconditionally.
Talking to mediapersons he alleged that Maudani's arrest was the result of malicious prosecution. The present system of prosecution should change, he said.
Mr Pillai emphasised the need for evolving an independent prosecution system in the country, which was free from the influence of the ruling party and government.
Meanwhile PDP activists under the leadership of District President M S Naushad took out a rally through the town to celebrate the court verdict acquitting PDP leader Abdul Nasser Maudhany in the Coimbatore bomb blast case.
