Incessant rains lash city
Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) Incessant rains today lashed the city and its suburbs but life in the metropolis was not affected as rail, road and air traffic continued unhampered The total rainfall in the city for the last 24 hours till 0830 hrs this morning was 19.6 mm at Colaba and 3.1 mm at Santacruz. The weather bureau has warned of heavy rains, accompanied by gutsy winds, in the next 24 hours.
Rail services on the Central and Harbour lines were running on schedule without any disruption. Even the air services were not affected by the rains.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall was likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Thane, Raigad and districts of South Konkan region during the next 48 hours.
