Hyundai sales up 14.6% during July 2007

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) Country's second largest car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today said the company's overall sales grew by 14.6 per cent with 28,203 vehicles sold in July 2007 as compared to 24,609 units in the corresponding month last year.

While the domestic market accounted for 15,003 units, exports totaled 13,200 units in July 2007.

The month of July, 2007 saw an increase of 16.6 per cent in exports over the previous month of June, 2007 where exports stood at 11,318 units.

As compared to July, 2006 (8,406 units) the exports grew by 4,794 units, marking a jump of 57 per cent.

''With India gradually becoming Hyundai's manufacturing hub for small car exports, we have stepped up our efforts to deliver huge back orders for the overseas market this month. Consequently, exports made up a large part of total sales in July this year,'' company Vice President (Marketing and Sales ) Arvind Saxena said in a statement.

The company sold 24,044 units of A1 segment; 4,094 units of A2 segment; nine units of A3 segment; 34 units of A4 segment and 22 units of SUVs respectively.
