Honeywell to provide, Avionics products in AI aircraft
Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) Honeywell International, the US 34 billion dollar diversified technology and manufacturing leader, today announced that it had been selected by Air India to provide a full suite of avionics products for its fleets of B777 and B737NG aircraft.
Air India will receive 18 B737NG aircraft between 2006 and 2009, and 23 B777 aircraft between 2007 and 2010.
According to a company release, the avionics suite to be provided for these aircraft include the RDR-4B and RDR-4000 weather radar, Quantum Line Comm Nav Surveillance (CNS), high-frequency radio, Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) and Solid State Flight Data Recorder (SSFDR).
''Air India's investment in Honeywell's avionics suite will provide enhanced reliability and better performance, and will optimise their operations worldwide,'' said Chao Jing, Honeywell Aerospace Vice President (Airlines) Asia Pacific.
''The RDR-4B and -4000 weather radar systems expand weather information and enhance crew awareness. Our products help assure Air India's investment in these aircraft will result in safer, more cost-effective and efficient operations,'' Jing added.
