Former Education Inspector sentenced in bribery case

Patna, Aug 01 (UNI) Special vigilance judge of Patna S P N Singh today awarded rigorous imprisonment of one year in addition to a fine of Rs 5000 against former Deputy Education Inspector of Katihar district Pitamber Singh.

The designated judge found Mr Singh guilty under various sections of Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act.

According to the charges, the convict was arrested by the vigilance sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs 800 from a teacher to release his salary on Febreury 06,1986 at Katihar.
