Education through satellite system in J

Srinagar, Aug 1 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government will introduce education through satellite system in all degree, higher secondary and high schools of the state, minister of state for higher and technical education Aijaz Ahmad Khan has said.

Mr Khan said a main satellite unit has been installed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh in womens college here.

Director Colleges Dr N D Wani who is incharge of the system said important educational lectures and information regarding infrastructure and other educational facilities would be directly posted to concerned authorities for their timely redressal through the system.

Moreover, direct interaction between staff, students and authority would be made possible by it.

Mr Khan also inspected the pace of work being executed on the construction of auditorium hall of the college coming up at a cost of Rs 87 lakh in the college. Of this Rs 45 lakh has already been spent and the hall would be completed by September this year.

Mr Khan inspected laboratory block completed at a cost of Rs 1.87 crore and handed over to the college authorities.

Earlier, during a surprise visit of A S College, Mr Khan found 5 officials unauthorisedly absent from duty and suspended them on spot.

Mr Khan also visited the proposed site of Nawakadal Degree College at Eidgah and instructed JKPCC to start construction work immediately for which Rs 1.26 crore were released on the spot.
