Court dismisses bail petition of Babubhai Katara
New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) A city court today dismissed the bail petition of suspended BJP MP Babubhai Katara involved in a human trafficking case.
The prosecution argued before the court that section 467 of Indian Penal Code(forgery of valuable security and will etc) was also invoked during the investigation and it revealed that Katara has prepared passport not only in forged name but also using forged documents by showing himself as father of Ramesh Katara, Rakesh Katara and Priya Katara, which were issued in the address of his official residence at 123, South Avenue, New Delhi.
The counsel for Katara argued that this case is highly biased and not fair and the investigation officer has unneccessarily invoked section 467 of IPC because the investigative agency could not complete investigation within 60 days.
The prosecution argued before the court that the petitioner is an elected member of Parliament and still he has committed an offence. He used to make passport in the name of suspicious persons on his address by giving recommendation to earn money and also used to take people along with him as his family member to drop them abroad for money.
